Marine Biology Fun Facts
- The definition of marine biology: the study of life in the ocean and/or seashore
- The ocean is 99% of the living space on Earth
- The blue whale is the largest animal ( ever recorded) on sea or land
- Green Turtles can migrate up to 1,400 miles to lay their eggs
- A group of jellyfish is called a smack
As many of you know, there are five oceans that contain living animals. These oceans are the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Artic, and Southern Oceans.
Another fun fact is, 70 % of the Earth is water. Even though only 5% of that is fresh water we can drink from.
The largest ocean on Earth is the Pacific. It covers around 30% of the surface on Earth.
